I went to the June 2006 Utah Bloggers Conference at the Miller Innovation Center and it was great. Ryan Money and Phil Burns created the event, and I counted over 100 or so people who attended. Besides the free Pizza, drinks and t-shirt which I always love, the panel talked about some great things, I networked with a lot of people, and I can’t wait until the next event. Very good format. Here are some of my take-aways:
- Everyone on the panel either uses WordPress or Movable Type as blogger platforms
- Phil Windley - “If you want to be visited, don’t write articles that are balanced”, contriversial articles are the one’s that get readership and comments
- Phil Windley – Blog to create a personal brand
It is easy to start up a blog and I would be happy to show anyone how to set one up either by phone conversations or email at michaeleagar{at}gmail[dot]com. If you blog or want to blog or want to understand what a blog is, come to the next Utah Bloggers Conference.
