Great article in Fortune’s March 20 issue on CEO Time Management. The article is titled “All in a Day’s WORK”, and follows an average day for 3 CEOs. One is Brett Yormark, CEO of Nets Basketball, another is Jo Ann Ross, President of CBS Ad Sales, and the final profile is of Jim Buckmaster, CEO of Craigslist.org.
The article was pretty amazing. They pretty much followed all of their activities every hour of the day. Here are some takeaways for one day of work:
1. All three had 2 cups of coffee
2. All three had over 100 emails (125,105, and 113)
3. All three sent over 30 emails (32, 50, and 81)
4. All three had phone calls (3, 19, and 57)
5. All three had at least 1 hour of meetings (60, 300, and 335 [minutes])
There are many different styles of CEO Time Management, and three CEOs are no different.
