Interesting article in BusinessWeek July 10, 2006 on bloggers that Get Paid to Blog Products! The article cites PayPerPost and the BlogStar Network that pay bloggers to write posts about about products. BlogStar pays nicely at $5 - $10 per post. You can post whatever you want Positive, Negative or neutral - although they emphasize they appreciate the “positive posts” much more. I think I heard some local guys in Utah were trying to do something similar.
Because disclosure is optional when it comes to if they are getting paid for writing posts, it is hard to tell if blog posts are “sponsored” or natural. This is one more form of marketing that even experienced marketers are turning to to improve search engine performance. Note, I do not Get Paid to Blog Products!
