Over the years I have often wondered how to value the companies I have been involved with.  I have relied mainly on the Accounting people to give me helps, but what if I wanted to know just ball park numbers?

Inc. came out with a Business Valuation Guide in the Jan 2006 edition that has worked pretty good for me so far.  It deals primarily with industries, but has helped me steer many of my friends in better directions (since they are going off of a guess or gut feeling).  It has a chart at the end that helps you decide your company valuation.  Do you have a reliable tool that you use for business valuation?
