Some great tips in Business Week Jan 30, 2006 edition on how to Become a Top Recruit. Here are some take-aways:

1. Consider trade-offs: Family time, hobbies and workless vacations suffer when you try to become a top executive
2. Build a reputation: 2 or 3 years is not long enough to stay at an organization, recent recommendations suggest staying at one organization for at least five years.
3. Get out of the Country: Top executives need to understand overseas markets and have experience working abroad.
4. Look for a Coach: Ambitious managers need to have an advisor to help them really understand employment opportunities.

I thought some of these were great things to remember if you are trying to gain some good experience and look attractive to recruiter’s as you Become a Top Recruit.
